Eric Swanson - Principal Technical Staff

Eric Swanson launched ESNC in March 2002. He has worked in management and staff roles at many companies, ranging from software and e-commerce to entertainment and consumer products. At one time or another, he has worked in almost every field of technology operations.

Eric has worked with technology for over 20 years, and played with it for even longer. He has used computers since 2 MHz was "blazing fast", networks since 230 Kb/s was "great", the Internet since it was born, Linux since it was a "cute idea", and Windows NT since it was really, really terrible. Eric enjoys figuring out new ways to solve interesting problems. Wherever there's a difficult, complex situation, that's generally where one finds him.

Eric lives in Redwood City with his spouse, two cats, and a garage full of computers dating back as far as 1969. He enjoys science fiction, strategy games, and pie.

Lara Abel - Technical Staff

Lara started working in the technical field in 2004, when she worked in telephone technical support for a small internet service provider. Before that she worked in assorted retail stores; her favourite sold educational toys. She does some field work but focuses primarily on telephone support and other office-based tasks.

Lara lives near San Francisco State University and enjoys reading, cooking, and wearing interesting socks.

Stephen Loewinsohn - Technical Staff

Steve has been with ESNC since early 2006 and has already accomplished a lot with his server and network skills. He is an avid researcher, always looking for better and faster ways to get things done.

Steve is also a student, and plays in a moderately successful local band. He enjoys motorcycles, salad, and sunlight.

Shannon Rice - Administrative Staff

Shannon recently moved to the City after graduating from UC Santa Cruz.  She interned at the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights before joining ESNC.  As the first non-technical member of our team, Shannon is embracing a stunningly wide array of tasks in a hurry.

Shannon enjoys all forms of pumpkin, from pie to soup and beyond.

The Rest of the Team

We maintain working relationships with other independent consultants and laborers, subcontracting or referring clients as appropriate. Colleagues' specialties include web design, audio/video systems, database administration, search engine marketing, and security analysis. When a job calls for other professionals, we aim to have just the right person on standby.
